Bailey Brougher
Klein Collins High School

While many young people wander to-and-fro through their high school years, Bailey Brougher graduated from Klein Collins High School not only fully-formed and ready for college, but also with many of the skills and character traits required to run a company.

She makes a very strong impression that she’d be the kind of boss for whom people would enjoy working.

“Being involved in school and community organizations has prepared me for my university years,” Bailey says, “meeting and learning about new people, and how to properly work and communicate within a group setting.”

Bailey’s grandfather was a champion swimmer at the University of Oklahoma.  Her father parlayed his degree from OU into a successful career as a petroleum landman.
Still, Aaron and Cari Brougher gave their daughter free reign to pick the college of her choice.  Graduating in the top ten percent of her class, Bailey gained admittance to the top Texas schools.  Diligently, she explored her options.

In the end, she chose Oklahoma to major in energy management.

“I was raised a Sooner and its hard to imagine myself anywhere else but OU,” Bailey says.  “Attending OU gives me ample opportunity to make a difference.

And what a difference she will make, according to Collins guidance counselor Debbie Wilt.

“There are students who leave an imprint on your mind, and then there are those who leave an imprint on your soul.  Bailey Brougher is the latter.  In my 30 years in education, Bailey is one of the most extraordinary young ladies I have worked with.”

A four-year letterman in cheerleading.  A member of the National Honors Society.  A volunteer to The OU Club of Houston.  An animal lover.  As Debbie Wilt writes in her recommendation, “There is no one quite like Bailey Brougher.”

Actually, that’s not quite true.  Little sister Peyton will be a senior at Collins High School in 2014.  Here’s hoping she’ll follow the outstanding example of big sis Bailey…all the way to the University of Oklahoma.
