Book

Few people have as informed a perspective on good versus evil as Judge Travis Bryan III. With nearly 50 years of experience in the criminal justice system–as a prosecutor, defense attorney and, since 2008, a district judge for the State of Texas–Bryan has seen the struggle between right and wrong play out from all sides time and time again.

Faced with struggles to understand and keep at bay his own “sin nature,” Bryan put forth an ambitious quest for truth and understanding in conducting a years-long study of the Bible and the “truths” contained within the Good Book.

Thus, the story contained within the pages of his own book account for a tale of “Life, the Law, and Loving the Lord in the Lone Star State.” As the personification of a “true Texan”–and direct descendent of the “Father of Texas,” Stephen F. Austin–Bryan embodies the spirit, ambition and “larger-than-life” mindset for which his native land is known At the same time, he is a humble man willing to share and analyze his own spiritual challenges and personal shortcomings.

Embracing The Cross contains not only a detailed account of Bryan's personal exploration of Scripture but also his discovery of the Bible’s clear and underlying direction: Salvation is found  at the foot of The Cross, “It is only through accepting our own death and resurrection,” he says, "that we are able to become one with God.”

Bryan also paints a compelling picture of the great passions of his secular life, from fatherhood and friendships to his lifelong love for the sports of football and golf, and his pride in being a Texas Aggie for life.

A story unlike any other, Embracing The Cross offers insights into truth, justice and the American way, as well as a clear path to Redemption and Salvation through an understanding of how “death” and “resurrection” in our own lives brings us to a Spiritual alinement with God.
